I have quite a few Bibles, more than I need really. I’d guess seven translations in physical books, and a couple dozen more in digital form. I suppose that’s one of the joys of seminary, everyone assumes another Bible is the perfect gift for any occasion.

There are advantages to having so many versions to compare, but there is a downside as well. Which one do I use as my primary Bible? Years of switching between versions and I’m still not settled on one. Choosing a translation is not a simple task.
