Last year, Zondervan partnered with Biola University and Fuller Theological Seminary to launch the inaugural annual Los Angeles Theology Conference. LATC is an annual international conference concerned with the discussion and explication of Christian doctrine. It is a self-consciously ecumenical endeavor that seeks to resource contemporary systematic theology through high-quality published outputs associated with the conference themes.

The first conference discussed Christology, the papers from which were released in Christology, Ancient and Modern: Explorations in Constructive Dogmatics. Next week the second conference will seek to advance current discussions on Trinitarian theology.

The 2nd Annual Los Angeles Theology Conference will be held on January 16-17, 2014 on the campus of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Plenary sessions feature Lewis Ayres (Durham University), Stephen R. Holmes (University of St. Andrews), Karen Kilby (Durham University), Thomas H. McCall (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School), and Fred Sanders (Biola University).

Below are two videos from Oliver Crisp and Fred Sanders that explain what you can expect from this important conference. As Crisp explains, "there are some exciting discussions that are happening on the topic of the Trinity in contemporary theology, which draws on history, draws on the tradition and brings that into the contemporary context." LATC 2014 seeks to advance this discussion and Christian engagement.

Sanders argues the conference topic "is really cutting edge because of the state of Trinitarian theology right now." He explains there is a sort of "counter-revolution" to the 20th century revolution in Trinitarian thought, which this conference fully exploits and engages.

We look forward to another year of thoughtful, thought-provoking sessions from some of the leading theologians in their field. If this year will be anything like last year, this is one conference you will not want to miss. Registration is still open, so register today.
