Announcing the Los Angeles Theology Conference (January 17-18, 2013)

Categories Theology

Logo_latcToday we are excited to announce the Los Angeles Theology Conference, January 17-18, 2013 (LATheology.com), a new annual gathering of theologians sponsored by Zondervan Academic, Biola University, and Fuller Theological Seminary.

The inaugural conference features some top-notch plenary speakers: George Hunsinger (Princeton Theological Seminary), Peter Leithart (New Saint Andrews College), Katherine Sonderegger (Virginia Theological Seminary), Alan Torrance (University of St. Andrews), and co-organizer Oliver Crisp (Fuller Theological Seminary).

The theme will be Christology, Ancient and Modern: Explorations in Constructive Theology. Writing in a blog post today, LATC's other co-organizer Fred Sanders noted that in future years LATC will take up "core doctrines like Trinity, atonement, and pneumatology." The goal is high-level constructive theological reflection.

We here at Zondervan Academic could not be more happy in announcing this, if no other reason than we finally get to let the cat out of the bag after months of planning. This announcement also represents the revealing of a new book series—conference proceedings will be published, hopefully later in 2013.

So, please make plans to spend mid-January in sunny California with us! The Call for Papers is open; registration will be available soon, and if you visit LATheology.com, you can sign up to be notified as soon as it's ready (early bird registrations will be offered through October 31).
