My Advice to Students — Stephen Garrett Says "Connect with a Local Church"
(Can't see the video? Watch it here)
A few weeks before I started my M.Div. program seven years ago I asked a friend, “What’s the one piece of advice you have for me as I start my program?”
My friend’s advice is the same advice Stephen M. Garrett has for you:
“Make sure you have a close connection with a local church.”
Garrett, co-editor of Five Views on Biblical Inerrancy, says it’s vital for you to have a community of believers to walk with you through this process—for one major reason:
Studying theology and the Bible can lead to a spiritually dry period.
I agree.
Watch Garrett explain how you’ll benefit from this close connection and how it will help you avoid a potentially barren spiritual experience.
Listening to my friend’s advice made all the difference in my journey, and I trust Garrett’s can do the same in yours.
