Wednesday Giveaway - Church History Volume One

Categories Theology

Church History Volume OneLater this year the long awaited second volume of
Zondervan’s Church History series will be released, and in anticipation I
thought it would be fitting to feature Church History Volume One as this week’s
giveaway.

Beginning with Christ and the first Christians, author
Everett Ferguson tells the story of the Church up until the first stirrings of
Reformation in Europe.  Importantly, he
situates ecclesial history within the context of the key social, economic, and
intellectual events of each era.

Church History Volume One looks closely at this integral
link between the history of the world and that of the church, and Ferguson
offers the reader overviews of the Roman, Greek, and Jewish worlds; insights
into the church’s relationship to the Roman empire, with glimpses into pagan
attitudes toward Christians; the place of art and architecture, literature and
philosophy, both sacred and secular; and much more, spanning the time from the
first through the thirteenth centuries.

To enter the giveaway, comment below with your answer
this question: What person or movement in Christian history are you
most interested in learning more about?

Also, a bonus entry is available if you
comment a second time letting us know that you shared a link to this giveaway
on Facebook, Twitter, or your blog.
