Keener’s book as an exegetically plausible egalitarian approach.  But with both, I remain just ‘almost

Payne’s rigorous exegetical analysis seeks to demonstrate that
Paul’s message on this topic is consistent and coherent with the rest of his
theology. To that end he explores the influences on Paul, his practice as a
church leader, and his teachings to various Christian communities – with profound
implications for the church today.
