Wednesday Giveaway - the Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on Luke
In all the busyness leading up to ETS, SBL, and AAR, it looks like I forgot to announce one of our most exciting new books, the ZECNT volume on Luke. So I thought I'd rectify that by making the announcement into this week's giveaway!
Luke is the fifth release in the Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament series, and was written by David Garland.
The ZECNT series features a graphical display, a theology in application section, identification of the main idea for each section, presents a translation through a diagram that helps visualize the flow of thought, provides a summary of the central message of the passages, reveals how they function within the gospel, and offers an exegetical outline and verse-by-verse commentary that takes notice of Jewish and Greco-Roman background evidence that sheds light on the text.
Luke wrote as a historian, theologian, and pastor, and Garland’s commentary strives to follow suit in assisting those who will preach and teach the text and those who seek to understand it better.
To enter this week’s giveaway simply comment below with your answer to this question: What is the key thing you hope to find when you take a commentary off the shelf?
