Depending on whom you ask, the term Christian counseling can mean anything from secular psychology practiced by a Christian to biblical counseling that completely shuns psychological insights. Christ-Centered Therapy thoroughly integrates psychology and practical theology. A book written by experts from both fields, it utilizes the contributions of science in an uncompromisingly biblical framework. Here at last is a powerful resource to help you—pastor, counselor, or spiritual advisor—understand the complex problems of people and address them with the wisdom of God’s Word and the power of his Spirit.Insightful and practical, Christ-Centered Therapy unites the wisdom and expertise of pastoral theologian and best-selling author Dr. Neil Anderson and professional Christian counselors Dr. Terry and Julianne Zuehlke. The first part of the book equips you with an understanding of the different issues involved in integrating theology and psychology. The second part helps you turn theory into practical application. You’ll also find appendixes that offer personal testimonies, provide professional forms, discuss the role of psychiatry in managed care, and present the Steps to Freedom in Christ.

'My professional training and Christian experience did not help me understand the spiritual and supernatural aspects of emotional and mental dysfunction. I am thankful to God for using Neil Anderson to teach me, and for allowing me to apply and share the truth in my life and in the lives of my family and others. I recommed 'Christ-Centered Therapy' to caregivers and others. This book will address the needs of the whole person and provide balanced options for clients to find wholeness and resolution.' -- George A. Hurst, MD, FACP

'This gold mine contains detailed and specific help for any pastor, counselor, or seeker who has desired Christ in their counseling experience or practice. It is also the most practical help I have seen for anyone who has tried to maintain both Christian care and integrity.' -- Dr. E. James Wilder, Director

'This book makes an exceptionally important contribution -- showing how one can integrate Christ-centered counseling with the requirements of managed care and professional psychology at the start of the 21st century. I urge every practicing Christian counsler to read this book and every Christian counseling graduate program to integrate it into their curriculum.' -- Henry A Virkler, PhD, Professor of Psychology
